Louis Joseph Désiré Crépin (1828-1887) was a student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels (Belgium). He began as a sculptor and went to Paris (France) where he met Auguste Rodin (1840-1917). However, it was after his meeting with Eugène Boudin (1824-1898), of whom he became a disciple, that painting took over the main part of his activity. His works are cited: "view of Hal" and "canal in Brussels". The Charlier Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts in Brussels hold some of his works. Sources: Bénézit dictionary of painters and sculptors.
