Génia Minache
Artist: Génia Minache
Génia Minache. Mixed media on paper (pencil, charcoal, gouache, collage) "Belle, lovée dans son cocon" signed lower right Génia Minache. 54.5 X 41.5 cm à vue. French school.
Evgenia Semenovna Minache (1907-1972) left her native Russia at a young age, following her parents as they fled the throes of the Revolution and, after wandering for a few years in Eastern Europe and then Turkey, settled permanently in Paris (France) in the early 1930s.
The precociously talented young woman studied at the Ecole Nationale des Arts Décoratifs and exhibited her work at the Paris Salons.
Our painting alone encapsulates the immense talent of the young Russian, now a Parisian at heart. But beyond this talent, it is the very nature of the artist, her Slavic soul and her exquisite delicacy that characterize her above all else. In Génia Minache's work, we can speak of a veritable syncretism, in which the Russian influence, the imprint of the East during her stay in Constantinople (Turkey) and her stay in Central Europe, particularly Prague (then Czechoslovakia), forged the tools for her work to become an authentic visual alchemy.
Baguette frame in patinated oak and marie louise in straw marquetry from the period (1930-1940). Good condition.
1800 euros.
