De Lorme and Palamedesz. often worked together. Whilede Lorme’s imposing, but fictituous, Protestant Renaissance Temple interiorslook so grand, but also so unreal, Palamedesz. painted very naturally behaving contemporarypeople in them. De Lorme represented these interiors at night, making them evenmore mysterious, with their strong clair-obscur contrasts.
