De Lorme and Palamedesz. often worked together. While de Lorme’s imposing, but fictituous, Protestant Renaissance Temple interiors look so grand, but also so unreal, Palamedesz. painted very naturally behaving contemporary people in them. De Lorme represented these interiors at night, making them even more mysterious, with their strong clair-obscur contrasts.
