The Grand Tour, literally "great journey", was a travel experience that had the aim of refining the culture and knowledge of the young people of the European aristocracy. These young people, accompanied by guardians or preceptors, undertook long journeys across Europe, with Italy as the main destination, to admire the artistic beauties, the historic cities and to learn about the different cultures.
