This beautiful Italian design “spider legs” coffee table is the work of Carlo De Carli. Made in the 1950s, the table structure resembles saddle legs, hence the name “Ragno” or “Spider Table”.

The “Ragno” coffee table is one of the most famous designs by the Italian architect and designer Carlo de Carli (1910 - 1999). In the early 1930s, De Carli studied architecture and design at the Milan Polytechnic and later worked closely with Giò Ponti. This collaboration shaped the views and approach of Carlo de Carli, who later founded his own studio in Milan. His keen sense of modern materials and willingness to experiment made an important contribution to post-war architecture and design. His designs were produced by well-known manufacturers including Cassina.
