Element carved from a stag antler, depicting two stylized Asian figures in relief, surrounded by floral and symbolic motifs. Traces of black and red polychromy still visible. A circular red seal is stamped on the underside, typical of Chinese productions from the late imperial period intended for export.
This type of sculpture, often made from stag antler or bone, was highly prized in Europe at the turn of the 19th–20th centuries for its exoticism and decorative refinement.
Origin: China, late Qing dynasty / early Republic (circa 1900)
