Rare master's cord in the French rite, embroidery on blue moiré silk.
First third of the 19th century
This cord is superbly embroidered with gold and canetille threads and richly decorated with stars, a lake of love, a radiant sun and a kiosk.
Note the extremely rare presence of red stones at the top of the temple-kiosk and at the articulation of the two branches of the compass.
At the lower end of the cord, supported by their ribbon, two lodge medals ''Les Vrais Experts'' of which Ch.…. Au.… was a member, to whom this cord belonged.
One of the triangular medals is in silver metal.
The other, extremely rare, is in bronze.
Note that the lodge ''Les Vrais Experts'' founded in 1787 is the oldest lodge of the Grand Orient still in activity.
At the top of the cord, held by a clasp, a blue moiré silk ribbon decorated with gold thread fringes and embroidered with a compass and a set square surrounded by the letters J and B with three letters below that I could not identify.
The general condition is remarkable and there has been no restoration.
A true museum piece for a connoisseur.
An identical cord but without the medals belongs to the GODF museum (see photo)
