"Body In Tension – Signed Lithograph By Leonor Fini (1906-1996)"
A powerful and disturbing work in which Leonor Fini explores the themes of bodily identity, sensual domination, and metamorphosis. An androgynous, sculptural figure, depicted on her knees, seems to emerge from or dominate a carnal landscape populated by other evanescent figures. The bodies are stylized, metallic, almost biomechanical, with overtly erotic overtones. The atmosphere is both cold and intensely vibrant, typical of Fini's universe, where the boundary between dream, fantasy, and theater is abolished. Leonor Fini (1907–1996) is a key figure in 20th-century art. Born in Argentina and raised in Trieste, she moved to Paris where she frequented the Surrealists, without ever submitting to them. Recognized for her inimitable style, she places women at the heart of her work: sensual, sovereign, free, and often domineering. Her visual language borrows from mythology, psychoanalysis and baroque theatre. Her work, exhibited worldwide, embodies a rare form of artistic and visionary feminism.
