This 19th-century French oval reliquary presents a beautifully arranged ensemble of 1st Class Relics (Ex Ossibus) of:
Saint Timothee
Saint Fortunat
Saint Basile
The relics are enclosed beneath a convex oval glass dome and set against a red silk ground, surrounded by delicate hand-crafted paper floral ornamentation. Each relic is labeled with its respective saint’s name and centered around a small silver cruciform element, enhancing the devotional display.
The frame is wooden with an ebonized finish, typical of Napoléon III devotional art. On the reverse, two intact episcopal red wax seals affix the red silk threads across the backing, ensuring the authenticity of the relics.
This reliquary is a fine example of 19th-century French ecclesiastical craftsmanship, combining sacred function with decorative detail.

Overall good devotional condition. Minor wear to the reverse cover consistent with age. Front glass and relics intact; both wax seals remain unbroken.

From a private devotional collection in southern France.
