Jean-Jacques Ceccarelli (1948–2017)
Self-taught visual artist from Marseille, renowned for his unique work combining painting, drawing, collage, ceramics and the creation of artists' books. His visual universe, populated by hybrid figures and fantastical creatures, merges the rational and the imaginary. He exhibited regularly between 1990 and 2010 at the Jeanne Bucher Jaeger gallery, where his watercolors and collages expressed a poetry of everyday life imbued with tenderness. Ceccarelli also actively participated in the mail art movement and the creation of artists' books. He died in Marseille in 2017.
