The Annunciation to the Virgin by the Angel Gabriel, oil on wood in diptych, classic representations of the Annunciation where the angel Gabriel is outside and the Virgin inside a room, this separation here symbolized by a vertical frame element that separates the two characters. The angel Gabriel holds in his hand a white lily symbol of virginity and purity in the sufferings to come and the Virgin struck by the Holy Spirit, here a dove, abandoned her reading for a moment.
