Antique Religious Portrait – Saint Charles Borromeo (?) In Prayer – Oil On Canvas

Beautiful antique religious portrait depicting a clergyman in prayer, most likely Saint Charles Borromeo, wearing the cardinal's red cassock. The facial expression, the clasped hands, and the cross in the background reinforce the spiritual dimension of the scene. Oil painting on canvas, relined and mounted on a new stretcher. The work is presented in an antique wooden and stucco frame, decorated with carved motifs with original polychrome patina, in the Baroque style.
