Stanley London Compass
Elegant solid brass prismatic compass by Stanley London. This precise design was traditionally used for navigation, surveying, and scientific expeditions. The lid is engraved with a table of natural sines, useful for field trigonometry calculations. The instrument features a folding alidade with sighting slit, an engraved compass rose, and an integral reading prism. Very good overall condition, with a beautiful patina to the brass. It functions perfectly and is a fine example of an early scientific instrument that was both decorative and utilitarian.
