"18th Century Column In Carved And Gilded Wood On A Black Background"
Decorative column in turned, lacquered, and carved wood, dating from the 18th century. The blackened shaft is adorned with gilded wood carvings: a Corinthian-style acanthus-leaf capital and a raised foliate mascaron. A classical and decorative architectural piece, in the neoclassical style. Good overall condition, with an old patina.
