Mahakala Ritual Mask - Tibet or Mongolia, 19th Century. Mask made of papier-mâché and lacquered canvas with red and gold polychromy. The mask is surrounded by a crown with five citipati heads. Articulated jaw and eyes. Some lacquer chips. The rope used to hold and articulate the jaw is cut and worn. Weight: 2300g. 45cm x 35cm.
