Prestige knife - Democratic Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, collected around 1910. Yakoma, Sango, and Ngbandi populations. This knife is part of a collection of other weapons I acquired from the estate of Aimée Wintzer, née Collart, owner of a factory in the Congo around 1910. Wooden handle covered with a wrapped copper band. Double-edged blade in a "willow leaf" shape. Damage to the wood of the handle, near the pommel. Length 33 cm. Weight 250 g.
