Painted after a painting from 1754 by Jean Baptiste Nicolas Raguenet, which is currently in Paris, at the Louvre.
Our work is signed lower right but I cannot decipher it.
The frame bears the label of Max Knoll encadrements, 8 rue saint Laurent in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The canvas alone measures 34cm x 57cm.
