"Large Mahogany/brass Telescope, 1m, C. 1860"
Large marine telescope measuring 1m closed, 1m15 unfolded and 8cm at its widest. It is not signed. Its conical barrel allows us to date it around 1850-1860. It is made of mahogany and brass. The objective is equipped with two lenses forming an achromatic doublet. The telescope gives a good image. One screw is not original and there is a little play between the brass part towards the objective and the central mahogany part but the instrument is still manageable and usable. Old polishing.
