This exceptional pair of Staffordshire porcelain figures, dating to the mid-19th century, honors Ottoman Field Marshal Omar Pasha (1806–1871), born Mihailo Latas in Croatia. Each 12.5 cm high statuette captures his dignified posture in red cloak and turban, mounted on a pink-and-white horse whose mane and tail are expertly incised. The 10 × 5 cm oval bases are beautifully molded with Staffordshire’s classic floral and geometric relief. One horseman’s head bears a seamless professional repair; the matching figure retains only minor, nearly invisible paint wear. Unmarked yet unmistakably by Royal Staffordshire, these rare small-scale works perfectly illustrate Victorian Orientalism in porcelain.
