On the back of the canvas is the address of the painter's studio in Nantes. Joël Dabin (1933-2003), from the 1950s, was interested in the painters of the New York School (USA) who invented abstract expressionism and action painting. He himself very early embraced the ideas of these new artistic movements and became a fervent artisan. The large number of national and international galleries that welcomed the artist to exhibit his works only validates the critical success he had during his lifetime.
