David Peretz "Danielle by her dad sept 64" oil on canvas dedicated and dated lower right Danielle by her dad sept 64. Bulgarian School. 2nd School of Paris. 40.7 X 32.6 cm. David Peretz (1906-1982) was a student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia (Bulgaria). In 1947, he left his native country for Paris and entered the studio of André Lhote (1885-1962) as a student. In 1952 he won the first Israel Prize awarded in Paris. In the 1950s he exhibited at the Bernheim Gallery in Paris, the Redfern Gallery and the Crane Kalman Gallery in London as well as at the Museum of Toulon (Var) where he presented 42 works. In 1958 he participated in the exhibition "Soutine and his entourage" at the Hirschl and Adler Gallery in New York (United States). David Peretz's paintings have been collected by the National Center for Plastic Arts (France), the City of Paris, the Seattle Museum (United States) as well as various museums in Bulgaria, Romania and Israel.
