Paste On Paste, Pair Of Limoges Porcelain Vases By Chaufriasse
Artist: Marcel Chaufriasse
Pair of Limoges porcelain vases by Marcel Chauffriasse.
This is the technique known as "paste on paste" initiated by the Sèvres factory in the mid-19th century and then exploited with equal success by Minton in England. It consists of decorating, with white slip in successive layers, a previously fired colored piece. After firing, the effect is similar to that of a cameo with the addition of transparency effects.
White neoclassical decoration on a blue background.
Period circa 1960.
Delivery 14 euros in France, 25 euros in the EU and 80 euros rest of the world.
