Description of the Shinto katana: This Shinto katana features a ubu-configured blade with a single mekugi-ana, thus retaining its original integrity. The tempering pattern (hamon) is a gunome-midare, with irregular undulations, reflecting the refined craftsmanship of the blacksmith. The blade is signed by the master blacksmith Echigo no Kami Kanesada. A rare blade from the Shinto period, perfectly combining aesthetics and functionality.
