BLADE It is a lenticular section blade with two edges. It is solid, despite its apparent thinness. The flattened shape was intended to pass between the opponent's ribs.
Blade length = 20.3cm, width near the guard = 3.6 cm, thickness near the guard = 3.9 mm
GUARD: It is an oval iron guard (=rondel) with an edge chiseled in an oblique cord. It is thick and provides good protection for the hand. Maximum diameter = 4.6 cm, thickness = 4.3 mm
POMMEL: it is quite comparable to the guard, in iron, circular, about 4.4 cm in diameter, its edge is decorated in the same way as the guard, in oblique cord. The tang of the blade is directly riveted on this pommel, forming a sort of diamond-shaped button.
GRIP: it is made of hard wood, which seems very old, of cylindro-conical and twisted section.
This type of strong wheel dagger was worn on the fighter's belt, on the right side, directly within reach of the hand to finish off a wounded opponent.
The patina is nice and the object is very homogeneous.
