Harpoon Point, Tierra Del Fuego, Patagonia
This harpoon point, characteristic of the indigenous peoples of Tierra del Fuego, is carved from the bone of a marine mammal.
It was used primarily for seal hunting.
Our example, with a double barb and double shoulder, is the rarest of the harpoon point models. It was found in the south and west of Patagonia (in particular the banks of the Beagle Channel and the Strait of Magellan).
The blade, patinated by use, has a beautiful inscription "Patagon".
