Italian Reliquary Of Saint Beatrice - 18th Century.
Two Saints are particularly honored in this rich floral arrangement in bright colors on a red-upholstered background.
These are two ex-indumentis relics of Saint Rose of Viterbo and three important ex-cineribus relics of Saint Beatrice.
The skull and bones of our Saint are here shaped by ashes, in the form of paste to which these astonishing and rare forms were given. Finally, ex-ossibus relics of Saint Aquila, Donatus and Réparatus, complete this ensemble.
The chase is made of wood, foot, palmette and fire pot are gilded. A work probably from the Tuscany region of the late 18th century.
On the back are some wax seals. The reliquary was probably opened to be cleaned.
Dimensions: 45 cm high by 52 cm long and 23 cm deep.
Condition: used - missing.
