The richly patterned border is enlivened with scrolls, ribbed foliage, stylized shells and finely embossed rocaille cartouches, characteristic of the late Baroque taste and the revisited Rococo style. The interior is smooth, while the openwork rim has a worked symmetrical cutout. The whole is of fine craftsmanship, with the German hallmarks for 800/1000 silver, workshop number 89079, and unidentified maker's mark.
