A set of five strips of emerald green or imperial green moiré silk faille dating from the Second French Empire. Patent of the large Lyonnaise factory, the moiré effect in the antique style (that is to say randomly) is obtained by mechanical crushing under a roller allowing a stretching of the weft. It is most likely an old crinoline skirt taken apart. No defects to note. Good general condition of conservation.This fine and rigid moiré faille is for sale individually, including three strips measuring 68 cm x 119 cm at 280 euros each, two pieces measuring 53 cm x 59 cm (last two photos) at 100 euros each. The purchase of the entire set is 950 Euros.
