It is in the art and perfection of his opalescent molded pressed glass or crystal pieces that Marius Ernest Sabino distinguished himself during the Art Deco period.
Born in Sicily to a wood sculptor father, he arrived very early, in 1882 in Paris with his family.
He began by training in wood sculpture and then continued his studies at the École des Beaux Arts and the École des Arts Décoratifs.
It was after 1925 and the Salon International des Arts Décoratifs in Paris that he achieved a certain notoriety with his vases and other items in molded pressed glass.
At this time, gradually moving away from bronze lighting items, his predilection will go towards an opalescent glass which he obtains by the addition of a high rate of arsenic.
Only the pieces of the period have retained this particular iridescent tone.
