In 1921, Paolo Venini, a Milanese lawyer, with a distant family tradition in glasswork, founded with Giacomo Cappellin, an antique dealer, the company that would be called VENINI.
Created with the aim of transforming the classic glassmaking craft into an innovative art, capable of quickly becoming the main character of the Milan Triennales, the Venice Biennales and exhibitions in all European countries and the United States.
A result made possible by the synergy, promoted by Venini himself, between masters, designers and architects from all over the world, with the aim of anticipating and guiding taste, giving a precise identity to each piece coming out of their furnaces.
His sure aesthetic choices, combined with the high quality of the products, were able to make his glassware known to critics and the public, which is always growing.
He devoted himself to design from the early 1930s. In 1936, the Diamant glasses and, in collaboration with Carlo Scarpa, the Roman Murrines were born.
