Rare pair of white marble busts depicting King James I of England (1566-1625) and King Henry IV, King of France (1553-1610). They both rest on a column of orbicular Diorite marble from Corsica, itself surmounting a bronze foot, with scrapers and a row of pearls. Also called Corsite or Napoleonite, this marble began to be used in 1785. Busts made in the famous Joseph Rosset workshop in Saint Claude in the Jura.
