Beautiful gilt bronze and Brocatelle marble cage clock. Floral urn with damping mechanism, leafy handles, laurel garland, and gadrooned pedestal. Pediment with a frieze of heart-shaped rais-de-coeur. Enameled dial, Arabic numerals, and flower garlands. Signed Henri Journet et Compagnie in Paris. Finely chiseled openwork hands. Beveled domed glass bezel with a laurel torus. Front with flower cascades, knotted ribbon, foliage, and rooster busts. Sides with flower cascades and knotted ribbons. Base with an acanthus frieze in an ogee pattern, inverted cavetto, and pearls. Reserves with interlaced laurel, leafy loaf feet. Sunburst pendulum with mask, mechanism signed Juvenaux. Circa 1880. Height 45 cm, width 23 cm, depth 17 cm. Revised mechanism, instructions for use.
