Ceremonial chest of drawers known as "with fasces and trophies" in burl veneer, richly decorated with chiseled and gilded bronzes. It opens on the front with two drawers and two doors forming a circular arc decorated with an applied bronze with military attributes and two acanthus-foliaged spandrels. The curved sides are decorated with gilded bronze frames. The uprights are clear and represent lictor's fasces and rest on lion paws with flattened balls. The interior is arranged with two shelves. Blue Turquin marble top. Parisian work from the Faubourg Saint Antoine, 20th century in Louis XVI style after the chest of drawers executed and delivered by Joseph Stockel in 1780 for the council office at the Château de Compiègne and now preserved at the Château de Fontainebleau. Louis XVI style, first half of the 20th century. H x W x D = 92 x 146 x 57. Chest of drawers restored in our workshop, French polish, excellent condition.
