Object description :

"Trompe-l'œil Avocado Dish, Ceramic, Circa 1960"
White porcelain and polychrome glazed ceramic display stand made by Bertinazzo (Italy) for Chaumette, established in Paris, first on rue Royale and then on boulevard Malesherbes, renowned for its decorative creations inspired by nature.
The composition represents a basket of trompe-l'oeil avocados, mixing two distinct varieties: the small ones with smooth skin and the larger ones of the Hass type, recognizable by their grainy surface. The whole is decorated with carefully modeled and glazed orange leaves and flowers, in a very naturalistic spirit. The octagonal dish that serves as a base is in white porcelain. The piece is marked on the reverse Bertinazzo Italy, numbered 1502, and stamped Chaumette Paris.
Very good condition, no accidents or repairs

It is interesting to note that the house of Christian Dior also marketed displays of this type under its own brand, although often manufactured by specialized Italian workshops, such as Bertinazzo, and sometimes distributed by Parisian houses such as Chaumette.
