Important painting from a French school of the 19th century, circa 1830.
Oil on canvas with oval view representing a young aristocrat in a very beautiful Louis XIII frame in gilded wood and carved with oak leaves and acorns (XIXème).
A label at the bottom of the painting and on the stretcher mentions Clémentine STEVENIN Baroness of SAUVILLE.
She is nicely represented, seated with a large white shawl (very well rendered), gloved, against a mountainous landscape,lake and castle.
High quality painting, on its canvas and period stretcher, unsigned.
