Fight Over A Hunting Trophy By Ferdinand Küss (austrian 1800-1886)
Unusual hunting scene: fight over a hunting trophy between an eagle and a fox, painted in 1880 by the famous Austrian painter Ferdinand Kuss (Kuess).
Born in 1800 in Vienna, he died in 1886 in Pörtschach, Carinthia. The artist, whose works are part of the most prestigious collection, including the Prince Liechtenstein Museum in Vienna, studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under Sebastian Wegmayr. He worked in Vienna, where he was a member of the artists' union "Kuenstlerhaus", where he exhibited his meticulously painted still lifes of flowers and fruit.
