"A Pair Of Italian Landscapes By Christian Wilhelm Ernst Dietrich Dietricy (1712-1774)"
Two classical Italian landscapes (Campagna di Roma) with antique figures, among them the goddess Diana. This pair of Old Master paintings was created in the 18th century and confirmed in 2001 by Old Master expert M. Wolf of Dorotheum Auctionshouse, Vienna as original works by the famous German landscape painter Christian Wilhelm Ernst Dietrich Dietrichy (17712 Weimar-1774 Dresden). For comparison, see additional photos of similar works by the same artist from the collection of the Hermitage, St. Petersburg. The artist traveled to Rome and Venice in 1743 and our works are from this period.
