Late 19th centuryOttoman Empire Greece EpirusElegant sleeveless Greek Epirus coat in embroidered wool dating from the Ottoman period to the end of the 19th century and called Pirpiri. Very fine, very dark brown wool felt embroidered in chain stitch with light and dark brown silk threads. Crenellated edges applied with brown and silver braided trim. Refined Ottoman decoration very close to French Art Nouveau. Interesting cut marked at the bust by false pockets marking the waistline. Ample skirt with volume tightened in the back and notched collar. Exceptional lining in Russian cotton printed on a wood block with very strong polychromy. Several repairs and consolidations of the wool cloth which is moth-eaten in several places. Poor condition given numerous restorations. This coat remains solid and stable in its current state, perfect for a collector's item to be presented on a mannequin, the defects remaining barely visible. Priced accordingly, item not wearableDimensions: Presented on a size 36 mannequin. Size equivalent to France 32 - Height 105 cm Shoulders 23 cm Collar height 3 cm Collar 23 cm Chest 78 cm Waist 68 cm Circumference of the bottom of the coat 340 cm.
