Elegant wooden sculpture representing Christ in the iconography of the Ecce Homo , finely carved and dating from the late 17th or early 18th century. Christ, represented as a man of sorrows, is seated, his hands bound and his gaze raised in an expression of suffering and resignation.
His bare torso reveals subtle work of volumes and draperies, highlighting the sculptor's expertise. A cloak rests on his shoulder, recalling the scenes of mockery during his Passion. The sculpture is made of wood and patinated, with a beautiful depth in the details of the face, the hair and the folds of the loincloth. The molded base is reported.
Condition: One crack, Minor wear and losses due to age, but preserved in a good general condition.
