Art Deco 'pelican' Sculpture / Lamp Base / Inkwell In Fine Glazed Stoneware, Circa 1930
Shiny blue enameled stoneware sculpture lamp, circa 1930 – Art Deco.
At once a light fixture, a sculpture and an inkwell, this desk or table lamp featuring an animal theme typical of the period is exceptionally made of fine shiny blue enameled stoneware.
This bird / pelican model appears to be rare, as no identical reference has been found, despite our extensive research.
Given the quality and the electrical assembly (bayonet socket), it is probably a French production, possibly attributable to one of the following manufacturers: Charles Gréber, Denbac, Pierrefonds, Rambervillers, Frères Mougin, Bigot or Émile Muller.
The whole is in very good condition, without chips or cracks.
Only the electrical cord will need to be replaced and a lampshade added.
