Spanish Puñal Knife

Superb Spanish Puñal composed of a forged steel blade tapering towards the extremely sharp point. It has a flat back over 40% of its length then a counter edge up to the point. It is engraved on both sides with lines, undulations and scrolls and has a ricassot added in brass, engraved with lines and scrolls. It continues with a steel part with two grooves up to the handle, composed of a first section, comic of brass, engraved with lines, grids and scrolls, a central part, in section of hard stone sphere then, a second section, comic identical to the first, closed on the top with a brass pellet, receiving the riveting of the blade. Very beautiful brass sheath, perfectly adjusted and engraved with various motifs, ending with a ball. Late 18th century. Excellent condition.
