Dutch school. 19 X 26.5 cm. Johan Christian Willem Safft was born in Amsterdam in 1778 and died in the same city in 1849. He was a student of Pieter III Pietersz. Barbiers (1749-1842). He was also a picture dealer. (Sources Bénézit dictionary of painters and sculptors). The Museum of Brussels and that of Warsaw have his works.
