Enamel Pendant Diamonds And Pearls, Vermeil, Belle Epoque
A delightful enameled scene of a couple with a child in 18th century costumes in a garden adorns this large oval medallion. The frame is made up of a row of small elongated pearls on a silver wire doubled by another row of the same scalloped nature.
The arcatures of the scallop are held by 7 diamonds in grain setting, the back of which is openwork. In the upper part, a ribbon knot motif set with diamonds is surmounted by the bell set with a beautiful oval rose-cut diamond, openwork back.
On the back, a plate of amati vermeil. The enamel on an opalescent pink background lets the metal of the support show through as on Swiss enamels.
Note, retouching of a flaking of the enamel under the knot. Unhallmarked vermeil, tested with a touchstone.
Diamonds tested, they are not crystals or rhinestones!
Superb sentimental jewel from the beginning of the 20th century, circa 1910, in the style of the 18th century.
Dimensions 6.6cm x 4.8cm
Weight 17g
