American designer of great renown of costume jewelry. It is thanks to Miriam Haskell, in particular, that costume jewelry creations have earned their stripes. Instead of making copies of what was done in Haute Joaillerie, Miriam Haskell took the opposite view by offering exacerbated creations full of fantasy and color without precious materials to be affordable for all. The success was immediate and it was in the middle of the 20th century that her glory was at its peak. Here is a pair of earrings signed by her and quite emblematic of her original style composed of a large stone in very dark cut blue glass around which pearls and different glass stones cling. The setting is in gold metal on which you can see her name engraved.
