Beautiful EWER in formerly silver-plated brass called "in Mars helmet", with S-shaped groove, knotted pedestal and moving base, fitted with a C-shaped handle with draped crook. The body and foot are decorated with two horizontal moldings and stamped with friezes of repetitive flowery motifs, the base, with an alternating series of lambrequins and lanceolate motifs. The inner bottom is lined with a copper cap ensuring watertightness.
Height: 27.5 cm.
FRANCE, First half of the 18th century


In very good condition, showing some traces of the original silvering.
This "successful" model was produced at that time in the following materials: goldsmith's work, silverware, pewter, brass, glassware, earthenware, porcelain and glazed earthenware.
