Charles X Sewing Table – Work Table
Work table, known as a "travailleuse," in polished mahogany, from the Restoration period.
Lyre-shaped base, with three simulated metal strings and ebony balls, gilded bronze rosettes, set on a doubly curved pedestal.
The hinged lid, lined with a mirror on its inner side, opens to reveal a storage space with three compartments, beneath which slides a large drawer.
The lyres are connected by a wool basket in the shape of a gutter.
In very good condition.
