Entirely made of brass. The base of the bomb is bordered at the front and back by a band decorated with moldings in relief at the front and back. Movable visor stamped in relief with two crossed axes linked together by a ribbon framed by laurel branches. Neck cover encircled with a bent rush astride its outer edge. Crest with fins stamped with twelve gadroons with a mask decorated with a flaming bomb, it is topped with a black horsehair caterpillar. Brass front plate stamped with a shield with granade, marked "Sps Pompier de Ste Maure". Brass chinstraps composed of two chin straps with rosette: each chin strap is composed of a brass plate stamped with scalloped scales in relief, mounted on leather, round rosette stamped with gadroons in relief. Plume holder with a square section decreasing towards the bottom with missing tightening screw. Brown leather inner cap with eight wolf teeth. Posterior plume.
