Object description :

"Pendulum Terminal Representing Ceres Or The Allegory Of Summer"
Chiseled and gilded bronze terminal clock, representing Ceres standing, holding a billhook and a flaming torch in her hands. She stands near a terminal decorated with ears of cereals and topped with a bale of straw.

The terminal receives the movement with a white enameled dial. It strikes the hours and half-hours as it passes.

Revised by our clockmaker, this clock is in perfect working order.

Work from the beginning of the 19th century, circa 1820.

Very present on Louis XVI clocks, the characters and scenes inspired by Greco-Roman antiquities were taken up during the first 30 years of the 19th century and were then very popular.

Length: 33 cm.
Height: 43.5 cm.
Depth: 15 cm.
