18th Century French School Portrait Of A Child
Important pastel from the French school of the second half of the 18th century depicting a portrait of a child wearing a feathered hat and holding a medallion in his right hand. The colors of this pastel have retained all their freshness. The pretty little face and the sweet gaze of the child would suggest that it is a little girl. Very beautiful rendering of her expression as well as her clothes without forgetting the drapery under her left hand which suggests that it is a velvet fabric. Period frame in gilded wood with garland and pearl motifs (to be refreshed). Old glass probably original. Dimensions with frame: 99 x 76 cm
