Antique Baccarat Crystal Set In Book Shaped Box
BACCARAT CRYSTAL
A rare and charming liqueur cabinet featuring a trompe-l’œil design depicting a stack of books, bearing the sandblasted circular hallmark beneath the glasswork.
The outer case resembles four antique book bindings in full leather or brown percaline, the spines adorned with faux gilded panels featuring classical-style metalwork. The interior, lined and darkened by a wooden tray edged with gilded fillets, contains its original liqueur set in Baccarat’s thick moulded crystal with bevelled edges. It comprises 7 crystal pieces: 1 small square decanter with bevelled sides and its faceted octagonal stopper; 6 small matching liqueur glasses.
France. Late 19th century or early 20th century.
